Dylan R Evans passed unexpectedly on November 12, 2023, doing what he loved, hunting, at the age of 30 years old.
Dylan was born November 12, 1993, to James and Leslie Evans. The family lived on the south side of Rapid City, where Dylan made friends and memories to last a lifetime. He attended school in Rapid City and went to Central High School. He was a star baseball player and continued to play slow pitch softball even after high school. In high school he worked at Menards as a carry out and cart chaser.
After high school Dylan knew he didn’t want to attend college, instead he got his CDL. He began working for PEPSI as a route driver. After leaving there he found his love of being a “trash man.” He worked for Kieffer making friendships that would last a lifetime and learning the skill of welding. Before his passing he was working for the city as that “trash man,” where he enjoyed his job every day.
Dylan lit up every room he entered, he was the life of every event. He never knew a stranger and would gladly talk to everyone and make friends. Like him and his dad always said, “It’s not what you know, it’s who you know.” He was always the man that would give you the shirt off his back to help you out.
Dylan’s dad, Jim, showed him a love of fishing, hunting, cooking and all things high octane. Together they worked on a 1962 NOVA that was quite the accomplishment. Dylan went on to win a few trophies with that car. He loved taking people for rides in it, ensuring that they gripped their seat at least once on the drive.
Dylan married Kassee Florea on February 2, 2023. He was first a stepdad to Leyton, then they began their family April 20, 2020 with their daughter Bristol. On September 25, 2023, they welcomed their second daughter Blaire. Dylan loved his family more than anything; he fiercely loved his daughters.
He leaves memories with his wife Kassee; daughters Bristol and Blaire; stepson Leyton; mom Leslie; Aunt Jennifer(Gary); Uncle Phil; nieces and nephews; cousins; and the multitude of friends he had made too many to mention.
He was preceded in death by his father, uncle and grandparents.
For Dylan life was a joy and an adventure
A memorial visitation will be held from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm Sunday, November 19, 2023 at Kirk Funeral Home in Rapid City.
