State champion Lincoln and runner-up Roosevelt headlined the 2019 Class A all-state softball team with four selections apiece.
The Patriots, who went 27-1 on their way to the title, were led by seniors Emma Osmundson and Abbie Klatt. A South Dakota State commit, Osmundson batted .629 with 53 runs scored, 36 RBI, 11 doubles, five triples and five homers, while Klatt, a South Dakota commit, posted an 18-1 record with a .125 ERA and 165 strikeouts. She allowed just 65 hits over 100.2 innings. They were joined by sophomores Gabie McConnell (.488, 40 runs, 41 RBI, 2 HR) and Kyra Knudtson (.429, 29 runs, 33 RBI).
Roosevelt was represented by seniors Shayla Tuschen and Hope Grismer, junior Heidi Vortherms and sophomore Jordyn Blogg.
O'Gorman senior Shayla Shaver (.887 OBP, 26 RBI), a Sioux Falls commit, and junior Lexie Brady (.656, 4 HR), a University of Minnesota commit, both made the squad along with Brandon Valley juniors Taia Rude and Andrea Cain and Washington seniors Abby Van Westen and Abbie Witt. Harrisburg senior Jenna Brodkorb and sophomore Tevan Bryant were also named first team honorees.
